Building Your Own Unique Business

Have you ever caught yourself scrolling through Instagram wishing that you could be or look as professional as another coach or service provider and their business?

I know I have.

I remember when I first started my business, I didn’t think I would ever be successful because I wasn’t the picture perfect human.
I don’t have blonde hair.
I don’t have blue eyes.
I’m overweight.
I’m absolutely ridiculous.
I DESPISE planning.
I want to be organized, but it’s a struggle for me.

Basically, I thought that because of my outward appearance and the fact that I wasn’t creating dreamy templates or organized and fancy Instagram posts that I wouldn’t be successful.

And the saddest part? I let this get to me for a VERY long time. I would constantly catch myself wishing I could be more like someone else on Instagram. Wishing I could come across “more professional.” Wishing I could create dreamy graphics that made me seem more put together.

But here’s the thing no one ever tells you: the way YOU do business is special. We all have our own way of doing things and that’s what allows us to attract our dream clients.

I catch myself to this day questioning my professionalism. I wonder if I should schedule a photoshoot where I go to a studio and dress up in a fancy outfit and a blazer. I wonder if I should create a mini training on Instagram with a whiteboard behind me pointing to different things. I wonder if maybe I should present myself differently.

And then I remember that people are drawn to me for who I am. I’ve managed to build a six-figure coaching business bringing in five-figures consistently every month by just being myself. Does it feel hard sometimes? Absolutely. But that’s the thing about entrepreneurship, it is difficult. Our dreams don’t get to come true over night. It’s a process.

I’m a business coach for new online coaches and service providers and I work in sweats 98% of the time. I rarely put on makeup. I don’t have big fancy documents that do the work for you. I don’t create epic infographic carousel posts on Instagram. I’ll probably never do a photoshoot in a studio with a blazer on.

Why? Because that just isn’t me.

I’ve built this business through showing people that we don’t have to be this perfect business womxn to be successful. We get to show up as ourselves and put our own personal spin on our area of expertise and that is what makes us successful.

We all have it in us to build a successful business if it’s our passion. We just have to remember to not judge ourselves if we aren’t like those other entrepreneurs out there. We don’t have to have that picture perfect life to have a super successful business.

I believe that the best way to learn is through doing. And that’s a huge piece of my coaching. I encourage my clients to take action and then we learn from what they’ve done. It’s a beautiful process that yields epic results. And this is a part of my unique gift.
